Specifying a number of RAM is like trying to hit a moving target. Computer software is constantly being updated, and often needs more memory to run properly.  If your computer is running slowly, check to see if you are running a lot of unnecessary programs. If you are, close the ones you don’t need. If the computer is still slow, you likely need more RAM. Often basic word processing and web browsing can be done with the RAM that comes standard with the computer. For more complex tasks such as video editing, music recording, gaming or graphic design, more RAM is recommended.
