E-newsletters are newsletters regularly circulated by email to a group of subscribers.  Many organizations and businesses write e-newsletters and send them out to consumers and interested parties. E-newsletters might be received from organizations such as animal rights groups trying to bring attention to issues, businesses trying to sell products and inform customers of sales, schools updating parents about events and so on. If you are a subscriber of an e-newsletter you are on the organization’s distribution email list. Organizations typically have a mass distribution list to target as many people at once with their updates in their e-newsletters.

What if I no longer want to receive an e-newsletter from an organization? You may wish to unsubscribe to the e-newsletters you receive. By law companies must remove  consumers from e-newsletters should they request to be removed. This can be done in a few different ways:
